Rosebank Farms CSA

For the past couple of years, I have been a member of the Rosebank Farms Community Supported Agriculture(CSA) program, and just love getting fruits and veggies like these from just down the road!  These strawberries are to die for.

I may or may not have eaten half of this box immediately after taking this picture...

For those of you who are not familiar with CSAs, basically you pay for a share of the farms crops, and then receive a weekly delivery of whatever plants are growing locally, and seasonally.  I also love knowing that I am supporting a local farm, and that fuel isn't being wasted to transport the food half way around the world.  You can also get eggs, flowers, and my favorite, goat cheese!

I encourage you to find a CSA in your area, and give it a try for a season.  I'm sure you will get some random veg that you have never seen, but look it up, and try a new recipe!

the Postcard Show

I was honored to be part of the Postcard Show hosted by Skirt! Magazine and The Halsey Institute last night! Inspired by the RCA Secret show held annually at the Royal College of Art in London, the Postcard Show benefited the skirt! Charleston Scholarship Fund at the College of Charleston.  Initial estimates are showing that over $15,000 dollars were raised!  Great job to everyone who volunteered, and especially my fav ladies over at Skirt!.  It was so much fun to see some of my favorite artists, and supporters of the arts, come out in force to support the event.  I really hope they do it again next year!

I donated two pieces, numbers 273 and 274, which are pictured below.  Each piece had to be 4x6 inches, and sold for $75.  The doors opened at 6, but people were waiting outside at 4:15!  There were some incredible artists who donated their work, so I'm sure that's who drew the early birds:)

The artistic freedom was very liberating.  Now a days, I am so often just sitting in front of the computer, staring at the screen, so the tangible creation was such a fun way to express myself.  It is totally different from what I normally create, but that was the best part for me.  I so enjoyed digging through old boxes, finding glass plate negatives from 1899-yes, the year! What a treasure.

I was very humbled by the caliber of artists participating.  People like Robert Lange and Nathan Durfee were the stars of the show in my book.  These are just a few snaps, but if you like what you see, be sure to come out next year and help support the cause:)

Mandy + Will Tie The Knot!

Mandy and Will had such a gorgeous wedding towards the end of April at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Downtown Charleston!  I have known Will since college, and was honored when he and Mandy approached me about shooting their wedding.  Any of you who know Mandy and Will will agree that they are just one of the nicest, most fun couples you have ever met!

Congrats to Liz + Steve!

I had such a blast shooting Liz and Steve's wedding this past Saturday!

They were such a spontaneous couple and were up for anything.  I was only with them for a few hours, but we got some great, fun shots that I am super excited about.  Liz was a gorgeous of a bride as they come, and had not one incredible dress, but two!  Gotta love a good party dress! It was a flawless celebration-congrats to all involved!

Some of my favorite shots came when the couple took a bike cab from the church to the reception.

I love the fact that each wedding is different, and this wedding was truly about this couple.  The closest of friends and family, an intimate ceremony, and incredible food and drink!
Congrats again to Liz and Steve-cheers to happily ever after!
